“Summertime and the Livin’ is Easy”

I was listening to the CD “Free Yourself” by American Idol Winner of  Fantasia and fell in love with her version of Summertime. I have to say Summertime is my least favorite season of the year. In fact, during this season I always think ahead to fall leaves, the breeze, and the most comfortable temperatures. Well, guess what? I am making a conscious choice to explore Summertime and the Livin’ is easy! I realize the more I create a subtle change in Mid-Life the easier Life can be. I accept that change is good and that change is a process not an event. When I make a simple change I attract more and more of what I truly want in my life.

Here are 10 ways to expand Summertime and the “Livin’ is Easy”

  • Have a Barbecue with your date, partner, family or friends.
     
  • Place yourself near a body of water, once a week, whether it is a pool, a river, a lake or the ocean.
     
  • Cut back on appointments both business and personal. This does not mean slacking off in your business or personal life. What it does mean is to choose a new perspective. An example would be taking Monday or Friday off once a month or every other week. A long weekend goes a long way!
     
  • Set aside alone time to explore your mental, physical and spiritual well being.
     
  • Quiet down the noise level in your life, one day a week or more. This includes cell phones, computers, microwaves and the news.
     
  • Less scheduled responsible time – more scheduled playtime. Ask yourself what’s really FUN for you.  Ask your husband, partner, or date what’s really FUN for them. Get together!
     
  • Listen to more music on a regular basis. Perhaps practice your musical instrument with a buddy. Jam!!
     
  • Be one with nature. Spend more time outdoors.
     
  • Add something new in your life. Let go of something old. This could range from a belief system, to a teacher, to a pair of shoes! Resolutions Kept is a great motivational tool to let go and bring in the new!
     
  • If you have an illness at this time, think only healing thoughts and affirm that you are of health, right now. Know, this too shall pass.
